Even with the vastness of the Berkshires wooded mountains, many events take place indoors. Athletic events have always included skiing here. The oldest local ski race, the Thunderbolt Trail Ski Race is still active on the north face of Greylock Mountain. Summertime events include the Josh Billings Runaground, the third oldest triathelon in the US. 

For the rest of us, the seasons feature the Berkshire Arts Festival and the Berkshire Botanical Gardens Harverst Festival. Many other events can be expected seasonally.
